    About the Area

    Selma, a city just over 5 square miles, is situated on the outskirts of San Antonio and is divided roughly in half by I-35. Two-thirds of the land area of the city lies in Northeastern Bexar County, approximately one-fourth of our land area in Guadalupe County and the balance in Comal County. The city is in three independent school districts with their boundaries roughly equivalent to the county boundaries.

    Culture / Entertainment

    Live Oak Cinema is nearby for an afternoon matinee or date night with your spouse. You'll find many local attractions in historic Gruene and New Braunfels, a city famous for the Guadalupe River. Every 4th of July, Schertz sponsors the annual Jubilee and Parade, a four-day festival that includes rides, free musical entertainment, food, fun and crafts. Downtown San Antonio is a short 25-minute drive away for visits to Riverwalk, the historic Alamo, and catching pro sports events like the NBA San Antonio Spurs.

    Recreation

    Located in Selma is a small park area in the Selma Park Estates subdivision. Work is progressing on our Stage Coach Stop Park on the access road of I-35. Others include Retama Park, a class-one horse race track, and Olympia Hills Golf Course.

    Shopping

    Selma and its southern neighbor, Live Oak, host the Forum at Olympia Parkway, a 190 acre shopping center, and reported to be one of the largest shopping centers of its kind in Texas.
