The city of McHenry has three distinct Downtown areas that include Main Street, Green Street, and Riverside Drive. All three areas feature quaint shopping, a variety of dining options, as well as service oriented businesses. McHenry is a great location with easy access to all major highways in the northern Illinois area including Routes 31, 47, 120, 173 and 176.

Higher education opportunities in the area includes McHenry County College located in Crystal Lake, within 5 miles as well as the College of Lake County in Grayslake, about 14 miles away.

Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center is located within a mile of the Morgan Hill community. Transportation is made easy via the Metra train lines. The Metra has three easily accessible locations serving the McHenry area. Chicago O'Hare is approximately 37 miles away, Chicago Midway is approximately 51 miles, and Milwaukee International is 59 miles away.
