About the Area

Morgan Hill is approximately 50 miles Northwest of Chicago and only 15 miles from the Wisconsin border. The city of McHenry offers serenity as well as adventure where the river and parks offer a place for hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, and lots of water activities.

City Overview

The city of McHenry has three distinct Downtown areas that include Main Street, Green Street, and Riverside Drive. All three areas feature quaint shopping, a variety of dining options, as well as service oriented businesses. McHenry is a great location with easy access to all major highways in the northern Illinois area including Routes 31, 47, 120, 173 and 176.

Education

Higher education opportunities in the area includes McHenry County College located in Crystal Lake, within 5 miles as well as the College of Lake County in Grayslake, about 14 miles away.

Medical

Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center is located within a mile of the Morgan Hill community. It serves the greater McHenry county region of Northern Illinois and specializes in Emergency Services, Cardiac Care, Cancer Care, Rehabilitation Services, and Occupational Health. In addition, the Mercy Immediate Care Center can be found within a mile of Morgan Hill.

Recreation

The city of McHenry is situated along the Fox River, a common place for all water activities. Here you will find fishing, the water skiing, and jet skis enjoying the beautiful summer day. Three historic trails are located in the McHenry area and perfect for hiking or biking. Other outdoor places to explore are The Prairie Trail, Moraine Hills State Park, and Glacial Park.

Transportation

Transportation is made easy via the Metra train lines. The Metra has three easily accessible locations serving the McHenry area. One is located less than a mile from Morgan Hill and the other two are in Crystal Lake within four miles. The train line is the Union Pacific/Northwest Line. Access to three major airports makes traveling for business or taking that vacation very convenient. Chicago O'Hare is approximately 37 miles away, Chicago Midway is approximately 51 miles, and Milwaukee International is 59 miles away.
