The City of Goodyear received the award for 2008 All-American City. Only 10 cities nationwide received this year. Being named an All-America City puts Goodyear in the select company of only 500 cities out of 4,000 nationwide who have tried for this designation over the past 59 years. That's not all! The City of Goodyear sponsors many opportunities to get involved in the community. This city is on the move. In fact, 2009 was the inaugural season of the new spring training facility for the Cleveland Indians. The Cincinnati Reds will be using it as well in 2010. There is a lot to do in the City of Goodyear! There are three golf courses within a five mile radius including the Wigwam Resort and Spa. Located immediately north of Goodyear in Litchfield Park, the Wildlife World Zoo has Arizona's largest collection of exotic animals with over 2,400 individual animals representing more than 400 exotic and endangered species. The state's first aquarium has now opened at the zoo.There are two county parks located nearby as well. Every two years, Luke Air Force Base - just north of Goodyear - welcomes the public to Luke Days, one of the most diverse air shows in America. The Bible Museum, the world's largest collection of antique Bibles is right here in Goodyear. It has hundreds of Bibles dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
